Welcome to LivingStones.church!
We wanted to make a place where we could let you look in and see a little about who we are! Jeremiah Griffin is our pastor and leading us to put the Gospel in Action! Jeremiah is a graduate of Maranatha Baptist University and is currently working on his MDiv.. Pastor Jeremiah is married to his wife and awesome mother Tancy. They have four children and three foster children and celebrate what God is doing in their home. Jeremiah preaches expository style messages with details in the meaning of a particular text or passage of Scripture. It explains what the Bible means by what it says.
We are currently teaching through the Book of Romans @ Living Stones Rockford and working on a new formulation and strategy with Living Stones Belvidere church plant starting with the formation of a Bible Study and personal evangelism emphasis in Boone County and surrounding area.
We would invite you to join with us in fellowship!
Who We Are & What We Believe
Living Stones is a fellowship of believers that have come together as a church based on a common desire to see the Gospel put in action in their lives, their families and the life of our communities. Living Stones is reformed in doctrine, in that it holds to the Five Solas of the Reformation. This teaching includes that we are saved by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone to the glory of God alone based on the Scripture alone.
The name Living Stones comes from the passage of 1 Peter and has given a solid foundation for the ministry.
1 Peter 2:4–5
As you come to Him, a Living Stone rejected by men but in the sight of God chosen and precious, you yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

What we do
Actions speak louder than words. The people of Living Stones do not simply join for worship, we are purposeful to come together to put the Gospel in action. We build one another up and then go out into the world to practice what we preach. ( Luke 11:28, 1 John 3:17-18 )
We believe that the local church is key to discipleship of believers, and we are dedicated to church planting. We are currently engaged in church planting in Belvidere and look forward to a launch in March 2018 of a new church. (Mark 16:15, Acts 13:47 )
Living Stones has a variety of ministries and most surround the need for food. We have a monthly Peanut Butter & Jelly outreach that places us into three of the housing projects. We provide sandwiches, cupcakes, drinks and other resources we have available to the needy. ( James 1:29, Isaiah 58:10, James 2:14-18, )
We celebrate community and gather to fellowship after our Saturday services. Everyone is encouraged to stay after worship. ( Matthew 25:35 )
Partnering with other associational churches in the area we are able to offer access to a clothes closet in both Belvidere and Rockford locations. We work with other churches to provide emergency clothing assistance in case of fire or other emergencies. Our goal is to have a volunteer staffed clothes closet open weekly for the communities around our churches. ( Luke 15:22 )
Living Stones is an independent local church made up of local believers. We participate in cooperation with the following agencies and missions groups of various backgrounds and denominations. ( Philippians 1:27, 2 Corinthians 13:11 )
